Photo Tips for the Fancy Cafe Meme

Nov 7, 2026

What to shoot for Photo 1 (wrong seat) and Photo 2 (arriving friend). Clear faces, full outfits, no sunglasses or mirror selfies.

The fancy cafe sketch is one locked wide shot. Faces are small in the frame, and clothes do a lot of the work. A sharp photo of one person beats a stylish crop every time.

You still need two photos. Photo 1 is the wrong seat. Photo 2 is the arriving friend. For the full steps, see how to make the video.

Match each photo to a role

  • Photo 1 · Wrong seat — already in the cafe, sitting on the table. This is the person who climbs down.
  • Photo 2 · Arriving friend — walks in, sits on the bench, puts a cup down. The bag from the reference stays in the shot, restyled to this person.

Swap the two uploads if you want to trade roles. Do not put the same person in both slots unless you mean both guests to look like one person.

The photos supply face, hair, and clothes. The cafe, camera, timing, poses, and the joke stay with the reference.

One person, facing the camera, eyes open

Each slot is one guest. A face cut from a group shot is too small once it has to become a full-body figure in a wide cafe.

One person per photo, facing the camera, eyes open. The model has to read the face from one still.

Face clear and well lit

Use daylight or even indoor light on the face. No sunglasses. No hands, hair, or a phone covering the mouth or eyes. Glasses without heavy tint are fine.

Dark, blurry, or heavy-filter photos are the usual reason a face drifts or melts mid-clip. If the still is soft, the video will be softer.

Show the whole outfit

The camera never cuts in for a close-up. Shoes, coats, bags, and hems are half of what people see.

A full-body photo is best. Head-and-shoulders can still run, but the model has to invent the rest of the clothes, and that is where outfits blend across the two roles.

Two different looks help. If both photos are black tees and similar hair, the swap is harder to read in a wide shot.

No mirror selfies, no phone in hand

A mirror selfie often keeps the phone in the hand or a second face in the glass. That can show up in the cafe.

Take the photo in a room, outdoors, or against a plain wall — not in a bathroom mirror.

What not to upload

  • Minors
  • Public figures
  • Anyone who has not agreed to appear
  • Pets as a substitute for a second person — the scene needs two people
  • One photo for both slots

JPG, PNG, or WEBP. Consenting adults only.

If a face still drifts

Use a sharper still of that person, facing the camera, and run again. Failed generations return the credits spent. The generator quotes the cost before you start.
